Madam Amina Mahama, a 60-year-old woman has escaped a mob attack by some youth at Nakpali, a farming community in the Zabzugu district of the Northern region.

DGN Online gathered that the youth stormed the house of the victim with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons to lynch her.

Neighbours and family members however came to the rescue of the victim but her house was set ablaze by the youth who threatened to kill her.

Mr Abdul Rahim Tahiru, son of the victim who confirmed the incident to DGN Online said the youth after burning the house, burnt 1,000 tubers of yam, 16 bags of maize and a cash amount of Gh¢ 8,000.00.

He indicated that his mother is a trader and that she had issues with two young men in the community and that it is one of them who died and she was accused of killing him.

Mr Tahidu however revealed that their mother is under the protection of the family in the community adding that the family have threatened to attack persons involved in the burning of the house since they know them.

“ I begged my family people not to attack the people who attacked our mother and burnt the house because we are law-abiding citizens but I can’t assure how long they can be patient should the police fail to arrest anybody.”

He said the family reported the case to the police and accused the police of failing to effect any arrest even though they visited the community.

“They failed to arrest the people involved and as I am speaking to you now I have the list of all the people my brother, we know each other because I grew up there and I am ready to go with the security and point them out for them.”
