Woman Boils Daughter

The victim

A 32-year-old woman, Sarah Pentua, has allegedly poured hot water on her 11-year-old daughter, Rose Labia, at Akwatia in the Denkyembour District of the Eastern Region.

According to information, Madam Sarah Pentua, who is currently on the run, did that because her daughter allegedly stole money from her.

She kept her daughter for three days in a room without any proper attention until a Good Samaritan found out and revealed the situation.

The situation has jeopardized the life of Rose Labia who is a primary five student of Akwatia L/A school. Allegedly, Rose was unable to partake in the third term exams.

The victim is currently on admission at the St Dominic Hospital.

The Regional Public Relations Officer of Ghana Police Service, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, confirmed to DAILY GUIDE that the woman was said to have refused the girl medical attention and locked her up in a room for almost a week.

The police spokesman said the assembly member for Domeabra electoral area, Ahmed Yusif, who was informed about the July 14 incident, was also refused access to the victim.

Consequently, he lodged a complaint with the police on July 20.

Meanwhile, the police have mounted a search for her.
