Woman Dies In Lover’s Room

A 58-year-old woman, Abena Twumwaa from Namasua in the Brong-Ahafo Region, has reportedly been found dead in her boyfriend’s room at Sampa.

The body of the woman has since been deposited at the Sampa Government Hospital pending autopsy.

Police in the region say they are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of the woman.

BA Regional police spokesman, Chief Inspector Kinsley Oppong, confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE in an interview.

The boyfriend, Thomas Kuma, is currently in police custody assisting in investigation.

Speaking to the paper, Chief Inspector Oppong asserted that Abena Twumwaa, visited her new-found lover, Thomas Kuma – whom she met at a funeral recently – only to meet her untimely death.

He explained that Abena started to complain of chest and stomach pains after supper at Kuma’s place and foamed from the mouth.

She vomited and was rushed to the Sampa Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

He said that Thomas Kuma and his friend, one Francis Twene, went to the Sampa Police Station to report the incident.

“Police quickly proceeded to the scene and found Abena dead on a slab. A daughter of the deceased, Naomi Nkertia, indentified the mother as Abena Twumwaa and told investigators that before her journey to Thomas’s place, her mother informed her that she was going to visit a new boyfriend that she met at a funeral recently, only to be called later by Thomas that her mother had passed away,” Chief Inspector Oppong said.

According to him, investigation had started earnestly to unravel the cause of the ‘mysterious’ death.

“We are appealing to the general public, especially residents in the area, to volunteer information to the police to help determine the cause of death of Abena,” he said.

Within the space of two months, two women have been found dead in mysterious ways in their lovers’ rooms.

It would be recalled that DAILY GUIDE reported a similar incident from Hwediem where one Faustina Serwaa from Asante Bekwai died in her lover’s room.

Police say they are leaving no stone unturned in determining the causes of the mysterious deaths.
