Wontumi Shakes Kumasi Markets

Wontumi presenting NPP branded hand sanitisers and face masks to the traders at Kejetia

HUMAN TRAFFIC flow around the new Kejetia Market in Kumasi was impeded on Tuesday morning, when Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi stormed the area.

Wontumi was in town to distribute free COVID-19 protective materials to the people, and used the occasion to campaign for the retention of President Akufo-Addo and the NPP in power.

He distributed NPP branded hand sanitisers, face masks and NPP T-shirts, decorated with a portrait of President Akufo-Addo.

Within minutes after his arrival at Kejetia, all trading activities in the newly built market came to a standstill as traders deserted their wares to get the NPP branded items.

At a point, Wontumi was seen struggling to supply the items because the crowd continued to swell.

In the process, they shouted his name, “Wontumi! Wontumi! And 4More4Nana!”

The situation became even more chaotic when Wontumi arrived at the main Kumasi Central Market to distribute more NPP goodies to traders and people in the boisterous market.

He said the overwhelming patronage of the NPP branded items in the two markets, was clear indication that the NPP is the obvious choice for the people.

He, therefore, tasked the traders to henceforth take charge of the NPP campaign activities so as to help win more souls for the party to ensure total victory on December 7.

According to him, every household in the country has benefitted from the government’s numerous positive policies, so the need for the NPP to be retained in office to continue its good works.

Wontumi mentioned the famous Free Senior High School (FSHS) programme, a social intervention programme, which he claimed has helped to lessen the burden on parents.

He also said the high unemployment rate in the country had been reduced through the introduction of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) and other key interventions.

Wontumi said food production has also improved significantly through the Planting for Food and Jobs programme, adding that the NPP deserves a second term, saying, “President Akufo-Addo has built a concrete foundation and he needs four more years to continue to build a prosperous Ghana that we all wish for.”
