Woyongo In Car Crash

Former Member of Parliament (PM) for the Navrongo Central in the Upper East Region, Mark Owen Woyongo, is reported to be doing well after being involved in a serious accident near Mampong in the Ashanti Region on Sunday afternoon.

The former defence minister and five other passengers on board a black Toyota Land Cruiser V8 vehicle escaped unhurt and are all recovering faster than expected.

On Saturday, Mr Woyongo joined National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates at the Bolgatanga Polytechnic campus at Sumburungu and left for Tamale after the regional delegates’ congress.

He is said to have left Tamale on Sunday for Accra prior to the accident.

The driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser V8 is said to have lost control over the car due to the slippery nature of the road.

Deputy Communications Officer of the NDC in the Navrongo Central Constituency, Kelly Wejegedam, said the party wishes its 2016 parliamentary candidate well, urging all party members to continue praying for his speedy recovery.

He could not confirm the whereabouts of the NDC Navrongo Central MP, saying he was yet to get in touch with him for confirmation.

Efforts to speak personally on phone with Mark Woyongo proved futile.
