‘YEA Ambassadorial Deal, Great For Make-Up Industry’

Rebecca Donkor and Samira Bawumia

Rebecca Donkor, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Make-Up Ghana, is happy the make-up industry has gradually become one of the recognised areas to enhance job development.

According to her, the industry has created a lot more jobs for the youth in the past few years and still has more potentials to create more jobs.

Rebecca, who is a major stakeholder in Ghana’s make-up industry, was speaking in reaction to her recent selection by the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) as one of its YEA job centre ambassadors, led by her Excellency Samira Bawumia.

The YEA job centre ambassadorial deal is part of the YEA Job Centre initiative to address the issue of rising unemployment within the country by the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).

This involves three flagship projects ? the YEA job centre which seeks to link job seekers to employers; the artisan directory project which is geared towards providing training to artisans in various fields and to offer them capital start-ups in order to start their own businesses and the regional and district projects tailored towards the needs of the various communities.

Rebecca joins the likes of Jackie Appiah, Bola Ray, Kwesi Arthur, Wendy Shay, among others, who are all ambassadors.

She told NEWS-ONE that being selected as ambassador is a great opportunity for her to continue to empower others in the make-up industry and beyond to help Ghana realise its economic growth.

“It is a great opportunity for the make-up industry because a stakeholder has been selected to lead a cause which will also benefit the industry,” she indicated.

“As a proud member of the YEA job centre ambassadors, led by her Excellency Samira Bawumia, I am very humbled and ready to collaborate with my fellow ambassadors to ensure that the set goal for this initiative is achieved. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the leadership of the YEA, especially the CEO, Justin Kodua Frimpong (Esq.) and the Board Chair, Mr. Samuel Awuku, for this opportunity,” she also wrote on Instagram.
