YOLO Actor Referred For Treatment Abroad

John Peasah aka Drogba

YOLO actor John Peasah, popularly known as Drogba, has provided an update on his ongoing battle with demyelinating disease.

The actor revealed that his doctors have recommended that he seek further treatment abroad due to challenges with his current treatment regimen.

Drogba’s condition involves damage to the protective covering surrounding nerve fibres in the brain, optic nerves, and spinal cord, significantly impacting his health.

In March 2024, he publicly sought financial assistance for his treatment, with many fans and well-meaning Ghanaians, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, offering their support.

With the Vice President’s assistance, Drogba initially received local medical care. However, his doctors now advise that he pursue further treatment abroad.

In light of this, Drogba has appealed for continued support to help him obtain the necessary medical care for his neurological condition.

He wrote, “It’s been a while since you heard from me due to a few challenges with my treatment and the need to seek treatment abroad as I have been referred by my doctors. I want to thank everyone who has supported me to this stage. Thank you for showing concern and support.

“As I have been referred to receive further treatment abroad, I look forward to receiving your committed support to help me receive the needed treatment for this neurological condition I’m struggling with. God bless you all for your help to save my life.

“I will update you very soon on how support towards this treatment is progressing. Thank you.”

Drogba critically needs advanced medical care and the continued generosity of those who have rallied around him during this difficult time.
