Zidane Set For Coaching Return

Enzo Zidane has backed his father Zinedine to return to management in the near future, with the Frenchman linked heavily with Manchester United.

Zidane senior quit Real Madrid in the summer just days after winning the Champions League – his ninth trophy in two-and-a-half years at the Bernabeu.

And Enzo, who currently plays for Rayo Majadahonda in the Spanish second division, believes his dad has been reinvigorated by a spell away from the sidelines.

‘My father loves football and he loves to coach, this is clear,’ Enzo told Diario AS.

‘It seems likely that he will return to coaching soon but right now he is resting, and this is something that he needed to do.

‘Managing Madrid was beautiful for him but it was also hugely demanding and involved a mass amount of work, so he is now recovering.’

Enzo, 23, is one of four sons and started his career in Real Madrid’s academy.

The midfielder left for fellow Spanish side Alaves in 2017.

He quit the club in January 2018 and joined Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland.

In the summer, he agreed to spend this season back on loan in Spain.

His younger brother, Luca is still at Real Madrid and is currently fourth choice goalkeeper.
