Sam George
A group of Zongo communicators inclined to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has advised Ningo-Prampram Member of Parliament Sam Nartey George to withdraw his remarks about Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
In a recent comment on Metro TV, the MP was reported to have used harsh words on the Vice President in an attempt to run down his engagements with the two main Abrahamic faiths in the country.
The statement, signed by Imam Muhammad Salisu, Chairman of the Zongo Communicators For Bawumia, points out that “the only reason why he made this kind of statement is that, the Vice President visits both mosques and churches.”
In the view and understanding of Samuel Nartey George, according to the grouping, the Vice President’s action is tantamount of religious prostitution.
“The truth of the matter is that, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia is the Vice President of all Ghanaian people, which include Samuel Nartey George himself, and Sammy cannot do anything about this for now. Dr. Bawumia is the political leader of the Party ruling at the moment. As a political Vice President, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia is obliged to oblige invitations to places of faith regardless of who they are,” the statement pointed out.
