Vice President Mahmudu Bawumia
ALHAJI DR. Mahamudu Bawumia has been described as the most active, efficient and productive Vice-President in the political history of the country.
A leading Zongo man and a staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Ali Suraj, has said the impact of Dr. Bawumia’s efforts towards national development, especially in the Muslim-dominated communities popularly called Zongos, is beyond measure.
He has, therefore, called on residents of the inner cities, especially Muslims, to offer their unflinching support for the Vice-President and the NPP administration to continue to turn their fortunes around.
Speaking in an interview with DAILY GUIDE, Ali Suraj, who is a former Deputy Organizer of the NPP USA branch, stated that Dr. Bawumia is a blessing to the country.
“I have read, listened and followed running mates and vice-presidents and I can proudly say my brother, Dr. Bawumia, a Zongo man, is the best,” he said, adding, “His eloquence, efficiency, deep understanding of governance and what it means to bring development to a country are simply unmatched.”
He said “without doubt, Dr. Bawumia is the most visible, hard working and visionary Vice-President in the rich political history of our country so far. He is giving hope to the numerous Zongo youths to aspire higher.”
Shaming Critics
Ali Suraj said critics of Dr. Bawumia, notably members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), when he was being selected by the then candidate Akufo-Addo did all sorts of warped analysis of the capabilities of the economist, and he has lived to prove them wrong.
“Dr. Bawumia, whilst in opposition, on countless occasions, freely offered solutions to save the economy from the then ruling NDC government’s mismanagement.The NDC then said Dr. Bawumia was only making noise in opposition, and he could not perform as Vice-President, but he has lived up to expectation to shame the NDC,” he pointed out.
According to him, members of the NDC, including the so-called babies with sharp teeth, were now struggling to criticize Dr. Bawumia in that “he has performed well”.
Proud Zongos
Ali Suraj said Dr. Bawumia is a now a major force to reckon with in Ghanaian politics, indicating that Zongo people, all over the country, have been made proud by Dr. Bawumia.
“Today, Dr. Bawumia represents hope for the youth, the intellectual community and the entire country, and the Zongo people are proud of him,” he stated.
He said the electorate would surely vote for President Akufo-Addo and the NPP to continue their good works.
