A 27-year-old Nigerian has reportedly drowned in a swimming pool at a hotel at Dome Pillar 2 in Accra.
The deceased identified as Chika Ogwo, according to information, went to the hotel with one Joel Amobi, also a Nigerian, on Sunday evening to swim but was later found drowned.
He was initially rushed to the Achimota Government Hospital for treatment by his friend but was pronounced dead on arrival at the health facility.
The body has been deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue awaiting autopsy; and the police have commenced investigation into the course of death.
Confirming the story to DAILY GUIDE, the Accra Regional Police Public relations officer, DSP Efia Tenge, said Achimota School Police Station received report of the death around 10:25pm on Sunday, January 17, 2021.
She said Amobi, who claimed he resides at Christian Village, reported that Ogwo got drowned when he was swimming in a hotel pool.
