Eleven persons have reportedly lost their lives in a gory accident which occurred at ‘Ata ne Ata’, a farming community in the Asutifi South district in the Ahafo Region.
The incident occured on Saturday, December 10, 2022 when a Kia truck traveling from Goaso ran over the victims onboard a tricycle.
Information available to DGN Online indicates that the tricycle rider carrying passengers and some bags of ginger attempted to turn in the middle of the road after it overtook another vehicle.
However, the tricycle was crushed and the passengers ran over by the Kia truck, killing ten of the passengers on the spot.
One other passenger died later on admission at the St Elizabeth Catholic Hospital at Hwidiem where the injured were rushed to for medical attention.
Others passengers who also sustained various degrees of injuries are said to be responding to treatment at the hospital.
The deceased have since been deposited at the morgue for preservation.
