16 Drinking Spot Tramadol Abusers Nabbed

The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested 16 people for allegedly dealing in illicit drugs at BBC, Community 2 in Tema.

The police received information that a group of people had converged on the drinking spot to deal in illicit drugs.

The command immediately deployed police personnel to the spot to arrest the suspects.

Items retrieved from the suspects included dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, Tramadol tablets, scissors, knives, among others.

The suspects are currently being screened after which those found culpable would be arraigned before court.

The Regional Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Nana Asomah Hinneh, who briefed the media, urged the youth to desist from the use of illicit drugs and engage in profitable ventures.

He disclosed that the operation would be sustained to rid the region of criminals, adding that the command has the requisite logistics to undertake such operations.

The police chief indicated that the acquisition of the drone has boosted the operations of the command.
