TWO out of seven suspected armed robbers have been arrested by the police in Suhum for allegedly robbing a gas filling station on the Suhum-Asamankese road.
The suspects, Joseph Arthur, aged 26, and Enoch Agyapong, aged 22, aee in police custody as at the time of filing this report.
The five other suspects are, according to the police, on the run.
According to police sources, the suspects hail from Kasoa.
On August 7, 2019, they reportedly stormed the filling station at Ali, a suburb of Suhum Municipality with two cars, one Hyundai H 200 with registration number GX 2882-17 and a Kia with registration number GW 4359-14.
They allegedly managed to rob the sales of the filling station during their operations in the middle of the night.
The Suhum Police Commander, Supt Joseph Owusu, confirmed the incident to DGN Online, saying he had a tip off and rushed to the scene with his men.
According to him, when the robbers saw the police patrol team, they started to run but were given a hot chase, leading to the arrest of the two in a bush on the Asamankese road.
He added that the Police managed to seize one of their cars, adding that the two suspects were assisting with investigation while the rest have been declared wanted.
