A total of 20 companies and stakeholders in the beverage industry were honoured at the 7th edition of the Ghana Beverage Awards (GBA) held last Friday at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra.

The awards event, organised by the Global Media Alliance and themed “Inspiring Excellence in Ghana’s Beverage Industry,” witnessed Tampico winning two awards including the ultimate award as Product of the Year and Fruit Juice of the Year.

Speaking to journalists, the Marketing Manager of Acadia Industries Limited, producers of Tampico, Bernard Offei, expressed gratitude to the organising committee of GBA for its recognition.

“This award reflects our dedication and work at Acadia Industries Limited. It also reflects our commitment to producing high-quality and innovative beverages. We are proud to have served Ghana with our products. We will continue to strive to meet their ever-evolving tastes and preferences,” he said.

Group Chief Executive, Global Media Alliance, Edward Boateng, in his statement, indicated that since the inception of the awards in 2017, the beverage industry has experienced tremendous growth. This is due to locally made beverages being exported into international markets as well as the acceptance of other products into the Ghanaian market.

“The scheme was carefully structured to provide the needed visibility, recognition, and inclusion for all industry players, beverage companies, and consumers,” he added.

Mr. Boateng further noted that the awards scheme has built upon its category list to make it more inclusive of all types of beverages. It continues to adjust annually to honour the beverage industries.
