A total of 25 students and their two teachers have died in an inferno in one of Liberia’s Islamic schools.
The incident, according to local media report in Liberia, occurred on Thursday, September 19, 2019, in Paynesville, a suburb of Liberia’s capital, Monrovia.
Families of the dead students and teachers are said to be calling on the President George Weah’s administration to speed up investigations into circumstances leading to the fire outbreak.
The incident has sent shockwaves across Liberia, with some citizens calling for national mourning.
