Bawumia Cuts Sod For Tamasco Dormitory Project

Vice President , Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has cut sod for the construction of a 600 bed capacity girls’ dormitory and house-mistress’ block for Tamale Senior High School (Tamasco).

Speaking at the sod cutting ceremony,
Dr. Bawumia reiterated Government’s commitment in promoting education and ensuring that poverty is no longer an excuse for any Ghanaian child not to reach their full potential.

He encouraged citizens especially parents and students to take advantage of the Free SHS policy by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He added that it was a golden opportunity to position Ghana and the North in particular on the path of growth and development.

MTN Ghana as part of its corporate social responsibility will build the largest single investment in infrastructure for the Tamale Senior High School since the school was established.

The school has a girl population of 1,200 of which only 50 have accommodation on campus.

The project is expected to be completed within eight months and will cost MTN GH¢ 2 million.

In a related development, the Vice President ,commissioned a sickbay named after Dr. Abdulai Choggu, a renovated D.V. Owiredu Assembly Hall and also inspected ongoing works on a 12 unit classroom block.
