The victims

Four men who subjected three Senior High School (SHS) students to inhumane treatment by forcing them to eat raw chicken have been put before the Akomadan Magistrate Court on charges of assault and offensive conduct.

Prince Adu, 40, a farmer; Peter Owusu Aduomi, 41, a Community Policing Assistant (CPA); Francis Osei, a teacher and Abukari Anaba, 57, were arrested on January 21, 2019 by the Akomadan Police.

The accused persons compelled the students to eat uncooked chicken they admitted stealing from the owner’s hencoop, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, said.

He told DAILY GUIDE that the incident, which happened in November last year prior to vacation, went undetected until a video of the cruel act went viral and the police received a copy.

The police chief said that the four accused persons have been remanded into police custody to reappear on February 4, 2019 while medical forms have been given to the victims to go to hospital for treatment.
