5 Teenagers Nabbed At ‘Wee’ Ghetto

 

SIXTEEN SUSPECTS including five teenagers have been apprehended at known Wee ‘Ghettos’ in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.

The teenagers included Adu Robert, 17, Samuel Osei Yaw, 18, Amankwa Nicholas, 19, Agyei Michael, 19 and Azamela Philip, who is 19 years old.

The unannounced police swoop took place in communities such as Atasemanso, Adiebeba and Railways, a police document has disclosed.

According to the police report, the successful security operations were conducted by armed policemen from 4pm to 7pm on March 2, 2023.

The swoop, which was intended to help prevent the sale and use of narcotic drugs in the city, saw 16 suspects in general, including the five teenagers, being arrested.

The remaining 11 suspects that were also nabbed were Nicholas Yeboah, 33, Samuel Sarpong, 21, Samuel Pebi, 26 and Prince Frimpong, 25.

The rest were Emmanuel Yeboah, 25, Kwadwo Antwi aka ‘Rati’, 25, Bright Ofori, 25, Jacinta Adu Kobi, 28, Nkrumah Isaac, 22, Jason Banahene, 24 and James Asumaning, 23.

According to the police, the “suspects were arrested together with some dried plant materials, suspected to be Indian Hemp” also known as ‘Wee’.
