Six new envoys who have been accredited to Ghana by their respective countries and have been accepted by Ghana have all presented their letters of credence to President Akufo-Addo.
The envoys took separate turns at the ceremonial room at the Jubilee House on July 10, 2023, to essentially inform the President of the formal commencement of their tours of duty in Ghana.
The diplomats are Ambassador of Türkiye (Turkey) to Ghana, Hüseyin Güngor, Ambassador of Ethiopia to Ghana, Mr Teferi Fikre Gossaye, Ambassador of Mali to Ghana, Konate Oumar, Ambassador of Cote D’Ivoire to Ghana, Assiélou Félix Tanon, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Ghana, Mr Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Dakhel, and Ambassador of Colombia to Ghana, Daniel Garces Carabali.
All six envoys, after presenting their letters of credence, conveyed the best wishes of their respective presidents to President Akufo-Addo.
They further indicated that during the period of their tour of duty in Ghana, they look for to deepening bilateral, trade, and economic ties between their countries and the Republic of Ghana.
President Akufo-Addo, on behalf of the people of Ghana, welcomed the envoys to the country. He congratulated them on their new appointments and wished them a successful tour of duty in Ghana.
Akufo-Addo further observed that Ghana has a long-standing relationship with all six countries, and every effort aimed at strengthening same is welcomed.
He expressed delight at their pledges to work towards the deepening of trade and economic ties between Ghana and their respective countries, noting that his administration and its officials at the highest level, stand ready to ensure that their stay in Ghana is successful.
