Scatter Bada
Accra-based record label, Abbey Music Records, has unveiled two new Ghanaian artistes signed to its label.
The two artistes are in the persons of reggae dancehall artiste Rashid Mortey, also known as Scatter Bada and 14-year-old Salman Mamud Meiyaki, with the stage name, Rockstar. They will be working with the label for the coming years.
Abbey Music Records traced its roots from Nigeria and has been around for about six years.
It moved to Ghana and worked with a number of other artistes, both mainstream and underground.
The CEO of Abbey Music Records, Abbey Mesh, speaking at the ceremony, said his outfit does not regret signing the two Ghanaian artistes.
According to him, “They are promising talents for Ghana’s music industry and they are ready to take Ghana music industry by storm.”
“Scatter Bada has done a lot of works and he is known in the industry. I have seen the good jobs he is doing and I believe we can work together. Rockstar is still in secondary school but he is doing very well. The boy is good and I think if he gets support with the talent he has, he will go higher. So we are happy we are working with him,” he said.
The label looks up to grooming the two new artistes for the big music market locally and internationally.
“I have always been looking up to opportunities like this. I have been hustling on my own. To get the media has always been difficult. So I thank you for the opportunity and I am going to do my best to bring something good to the label. I have a lot of songs and I look forward to amazing experience with Abbey Music Record,” Scatter Bada said at the ceremony.
Rockstar was equally happy to be signed to Abbey Music.
