Some women in the Assin Central Constituency of the Central Region say they have suspended childbirth until President John Mahama leaves office.
According to the women, the economy has taken a nose-dive under the Mahama-led administration, thereby, depriving them and their husbands of jobs.
‘When Nana Addo comes we will give birth…because we cannot take care of our children in Ghana under President Mahama, we cannot afford school fees under Mahama,’ one of the women said in Twi in an interview with Joy News’ Richard Kojo Nyarko.
The women made the vow when the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, visited the area on Thursday, the last day of his three-day tour of the region.
The women have vowed to vote massively for the NPP to return to power in 2017.
‘Prices of fuel are always increased and this leads to increase in transportation fares…when Nana comes there will be more jobs so we will be able to cater for the children we plan to bear,’ another added in Twi.
