The Northern Regional Minister Salifu Saeed at Gulkpe Naa palace
The Northern Regional Minister Salifu Saeed has paid a courtesy call on the chiefs in the region to seek their blessings and guidance.
Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) escorted the minister to the palaces of the chiefs which caused heavy vehicular traffic on the major streets of Tamale.
NPP supporters came out in their numbers in their paraphernalia to support the Northern Regional Minister.
The minister visited the Gulkpe Naa, Dakpema Naa, Lamashegu Naa and some other chiefs in the region.
Addressing the chiefs, the Regional Minister said he would partner the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to bring development to the region.
He appealed to the people of the North to promote peace in order to attract investors to the region.
“If investors build factors and businesses here in the North, it will create employment for the people of the region.”
Hon. Salifu Saeed gave the assurance that if given the chance to work, poverty would become a thing of the past in the region.
Some dignitaries, who accompanied the Northern Regional Minister, included Daniel Bugri Naabu, NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Sule Salifu, Regional Secretary and some regional executives of the party.
Some residents, who spoke to DAILY GUIDE, expressed their happiness with the appointment of the Minister by the President and tasked him to promote peace in Bimbilla and the Northern Region as a whole.
