Societe Generale Ghana and CFAO Equipment have jointly introduced a power scheme dubbed, ‘Get The Power Genset’ Offer, to support the electricity needs of small businesses and professionals in the country.
The generators on offer, according to Societe Generale and CFAO Equipment, are from the JCB QS Generator brand range and are believed to be among some of the best on the market today.
They are said to be durable, with low fuel consumption and reduced noise levels which makes it easy and convenient to use at any time.
The offer is targeted at small and medium enterprises, as well as professionals.
The two companies have partnered over the years to provide generators to businesses and homes in Ghana.
“For customers who would prefer to pay outright, the option is available. Such customers will enjoy discounts when they make their purchase,” Deputy Managing Director of Societe Generale Ghana, Francois Marchal, said in a statement at the launch on Tuesday in Accra.
“There also is the option to spread payments over a relaxed period of either 36, 48 or 24 months depending on their circumstances as salaried workers, small businesses, first-time borrowers or clients with existing loans who would like to add the financing of the genset to their loan portfolio.”
In addition, customers are to get a one year warranty with installation cost and three years maintenance cost covered in the financing.
Commenting on the rationale behind the introduction of the offer, Mr. Marchal explained that “although in this current climate, power cuts have been limited and load shedding is relatively less frequently experienced, we know that the large majority of our customers, both individuals and small business clients, suffer inconvenient interruptions to their daily routines as well significant financial losses during the height of the power crisis.”
“These customers and others continue to experience some recurrent power outages, and it is prudent for some to have peace of mind knowing that as a business or an individual, an alternative power source is always available,” he added.
“Those machines are fully compliant with our target to support the Ghanaian rising middle and upper class, as well as small and medium enterprises,” said the Managing Director (MD) of CFAO Equipment Ghana, Michel-Olivier Louis.
He added that “the major target of our JCB generators is to warranty a 24 hours per day supply of electricity, even in case of lights off and public network disruptions.”
According to him, “From 2014, we (CFAO) now have more than 100 JCB Gensets in operation in Ghana, from 20 Kva to 500 Kva.”
Managing Director of Societe Generale Ghana, Sionle Yeo, said the bank would continue to build on its partnership with CFAO to bring its customers the best generators on the market to help run their homes and businesses.
