Organisers of the Miss Ghana pageant over the weekend visited the residence of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, with a cow and several assorted food items as a gift for him.

The objective of the visit was to formally introduce the Miss Ghana brand to the chief imam and also wish him well in the month of Ramadan; a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad according to Islamic belief.

The Miss Ghana Foundation team, made up of Afua Asieduwaa Akrofi, Inna Mariam Patty, Archibald Quaye, among others, also presented other gift items by kind courtesy of Yummie Noodles, Bel Aqua, Special Ice, Frytol, among other companies.

The Miss Ghana brand is the biggest and oldest national beauty pageant in Ghana, with Monica Amekoafia becoming the first-ever Miss Ghana.

Government of Ghana has decided to support the organisation of the pageant after 60 years on and has recently launched its partnership with Exclusive Events Ghana, the organisers of the pageant to stage this year’s event.

The Miss Ghana Foundation is a social intervention wing of the pageantry which focuses on social projects to immensely contribute to the socio-economic development of Ghana.

The Friday kind gesture was one of its numerous social activities.
