Osei-Assibey-Antwi and others officials dedicating the truck
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has purchased a brand new aerial platform truck, popularly known as ‘hoist.’
The hoist, which is very expensive, would be used to replace faulty lights and repair tall light poles in the city.
The KMA bought the nice truck at a staggering amount of GH¢520,000 to help to illuminate the city especially at night.
The assembly used its share of the Urban Development Grant (UDG) to purchase the truck to support its operations.
The vehicle was officially outdoored and dedicated to God on Wednesday afternoon in Kumasi during a brief and colourful ceremony.
Osei-Assibey-Antwi, the Kumasi Mayor, who was excited, stated that the truck would help illuminate Kumasi.
According to him, KMA used to have an old and dysfunctional hoist.
Osei Assibey noted that the Assembly therefore decided to buy the ultramodern hoist to carry out that important assignment.
According to him, the KMA wants to illuminate Kumasi at night to beautify the city and also prevent the nefarious activities of armed robbers.
The Kumasi Mayor urged the operators of the new hoist to take good care of it to ensure its longevity.
