Salt & Light Holds Festival Of Nine Lessons & Carols

Harmonious Chorale

The Salt & Light Ministries and the Harmonious Chorale will on Sunday, December 10 hold a festival of Nine Lessons & Carols at the Police Church in Accra.

The event which will be held under the theme: ‘The Word Became Flesh-John 1:14’ will begin several activities lined up by the church for the Christmas festive season.

According to the organisers, the event is also aimed at bringing friends and families together to worship and also thrill patrons to an amazing night of great music.

The Executive Director of Salt & Light Ministries, Dr Joyce Aryee, called on the public to come on board to set their hearts and spirits right ahead of Christmas.

“It promises to be an exciting night and the choir has prepared to give patrons something worth celebrating,” she stated.

She said the event will witness performances from the Harmonious Chorale, an international interdenominational choral group.

Dr Aryee added that the group will perform songs such as ‘Asem Papabi Mati’ (Oye), ‘Menim Nea Menya’, ‘Se Bribri Papabi Waseda Ekyi’, ‘Sacrifice Of Praise’ and ‘Osee Yio Na Waye’.

She revealed that the choir was adjudged the best choral group in the Christian Community Music Awards in 2013 with the song, ‘Asem Papabi Mati’, composed by its director, James Vanrick Armaah.

According to Dr Aryee, the Salt & Light Ministry believes in deepening the use of music in worship by organising music concerts to promote classical and Ghanaian sacred choral music, and the upcoming event forms part of such efforts.
