Outstanding CEOs Nominated For Awards

Some entrepreneurs, government officials, corporate chief executives have been nominated for the 8th edition of the Ghana Entrepreneur and Corporate Executive Awards (GECEA 2018).

The award is a flagship event of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana (EFG) to honour, reward, inspire and recognize the most successful, hardworking and respectful entrepreneurs, government officials, corporate executives, business executives, who own or manage successful organizations in the private and public sectors.

Award winners would be honoured at a gala dinner scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra under the headline sponsorship of Omnibank.

This year’s event is themed:  “Enhancing Business Growth through Corporate Entrepreneurship Development” and will be under the distinguished patronage of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Special Guest of Honour.

Entrepreneur Awards

Nominees include Daniel Awuah-Darko, Executive Group Chairman, Vanguard Group; Yvonne Nduom, Senior Vice President, Groupe Nduom; Daniel Mckorley, Group Chairman, Mcdan Group of Companies; Ghazi Azar, Chairman & Managing Director, Azar Group; Nana Appiah Mensah, Chief Executive Officer, Zylofon Media/Menzgold; Harold Awuah-Darko, Chairman, United Pension Trustees Ltd/ Nationwide Medical Insurance; David Osei Amankwah Jnr, Managing Director, David Walter Ltd and Gideon Akrofi Ayiku, Chief Executive Officer, Rehoboth Properties Ltd.

Others include Dr Kwaku Oteng, Executive Chairman, Angel Group of Companies; Dr Wisdom Amegbletor, Chief Executive Officer, New Crystal Health Services Ltd; Jane Reason Ahadzie, Chief Executive Officer, Stopover JRA Enterprise; Jonathan Lamptey, Chief Executive Officer, Comsys Ghana Ltd / Telesol Ltd; Nicholas Bortey, Chief Executive Officer, Liranz IT Consulting Ltd; Omane Frimpong, Managing Director, Wilkins Engineering Ltd; Rev. Dr. Kwaku Frimpong, Managing Director, Frimps Oil Co. Ltd; Isaac Amoako- Mensah, Chief Executive Officer, Classic Amodel Ghana Ltd;  Catherine Nana Esi Anowah Cofie, Chief Executive Officer, Anowah Afrique Ltd and Dr Edem Bart Williams, Chief Executive Officer, Commerz Saving & Loans.

Corporate Executive Awards

Nominees for the Corporate Executive awards include Dr Kwabena Duffuor II, Chief Executive Officer, uniBank Ghana Ltd; Patience E. Akyianu, Managing Director, Barclays Bank of Ghana; Solomon Lartey, Chief Executive Officer, Activa International Insurance Ltd; Samuel Sakyi-Hyde, Chief Executive Officer, uniCredit Ghana Ltd.

Others are Abiola Bawuah, Chief Executive Officer, United Bank for Africa; Yolanda Zoleka Cuba, Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone Ghana; Emelia Adjei Ohene-Kena, Managing Director, Royal Crown Packaging Ltd and Dr Joshy Varkey, Managing Director, Nyonkopa Cocoa Buying Company Ltd.

Public Sector Awards

The nominees are Jemima Oware, Registrar General, Registrar General’s Department; Dr Nortey Kwashie Omaboe, Executive Chairman, Ghana Community Network Services Ltd (GCNet); Yofi Grant, Chief Executive Officer, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC); Dr. Felix Anyah, Chief Executive Officer, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

Other nominees are Paul Asare Ansah, Director-General, Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA); Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli, Chief Executive Officer, National Petroleum Authority; Stephen Amoah, Chief Executive Officer, Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC); Joseph Kwabena Anokye, Director General, National Communications Authority; Mustapha Ussif, Executive Director, National Service Scheme.

Corporate Executive Awards

This will include Overall Best CEO of the Year, Best Insurance CEO of the Year, Woman CEO of the Year, Young CEO of the Year, Telecommunication CEO of the Year, Banking and Finance Services CEO of the Year, Oil & Gas Marketing Chief Executive, Agri-business Chief Executive, Healthcare Chief Executive and others.

Also to be honoured are Entrepreneur of the Year, Business Executive of the Year, Industrialist of the Year, Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Group Chairman of the Year and Manufacturing Entrepreneur of the Year.

The criteria for the award include an assessment of entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance and growth, vision and innovation, personal integrity and commitment, strategic marketing involvement and corporate social responsibility.

Also to be announced on the awards night is Distinguished Lifetime Public Officer of the Year, Distinguished Public Officer of the Year and Minister of the Year.
