King Cephas Kosi Bansah and Queen Gabrielle Bansah being supported by DCOP Asomah Hinneh ready to commission the project
An ultra-modern female and juvenile cell (holding centre) has been commissioned at the Hohoe Police Station in the Volta Region.
The € 57,000 building project was solely sponsored by Togbui Cephas Kosi Bansah and his wife, Queen Gabriella Bansah, a Ghanaian-based German philantropist.
The holding centre contains general cells furnished with beds from Germany, washrooms and a base for resting for the inmates.
At the commissioning, Togbui Cephas Bansah revealed that sometime in 2015, it was his intention to celebrate his 25th anniversary as Ngoryifia of Gbi Traditional Area.
The Divisional Commander of Hohoe, ACP Joseph Antwi Gyawu, then contacted him and Queen Bansah of Abado that the Hohoe Police Station needed a female and juvenile cell.
The couple, who are noted for their philanthropic works in the area, decided to use the money for the anniversary to build the holding centre for the police station.
Within a period of two years, the building was completed for commissioning.
“We are happy to have completed this project for the people of Hohoe and we believe in supporting the poor and needy in our societies,” he stated.
Togbui Bansah added, “This is not the first time and will not be the last. We shall continue to help those who need our help.”
He continued, “Recently, we built three foot bridges each at € 35,000 in Hohoe Akpatanu, Dzangana and Kpeta over River Dayi and completed six classroom blocks for the pupils of Hohoe Kpeta, among other projects.”
Commissioning of the holding centre was witnessed by Volta Regional Commander DCOP Nana Asomah Hinneh and supported by ACP Joseph Gyawu, Superintendent Stephen Boadu and other dignitaries.
