Metro Mass Kills Cop, Daughter

Sgt Daniel Abotsi, a police officer stationed at the Konongo Division in the Ashanti Region, and his daughter have met their untimely death in an accident.

The tragedy hit the family at the dawn of Monday when their vehicle reportedly collided with a Metro Mass Transit (MMT) bus at Amanase, a village along the Kumasi-Accra Highway, near Suhum in the Eastern Region.

A police source told DAILY GUIDE that the cop and his daughter were travelling from Accra to Konongo in an Opel Astra private car with registration number GT 1742 – 12, when the accident occurred.

According to the source, on reaching a section of the road at Amanase, Sgt Abotsi’s car veered off his lane into the other lane and collided with the bus, with registration number GR 4732 – Z.

The driver of the bus, Seidu Clifford, 42, is currently in police custody assisting in investigation.

Meanwhile, the mortal remains of the cop and his daughter have been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
