The World Trade Center Association (WTCA) has selected World Trade Centre (WTC) Accra to host its general assembly in 2021.
Managing Director of WTC, Accra, Jane Reindorf-Attoh, made this announcement at a press conference held at the convention centre of WTC Accra on Tuesday, August 14.
She said that “Ghana was selected due to our highly compelling bid to host the event, and all that we can offer to WTCA members.”
She said the World Trade Centre Accra holds the licence and exclusive rights from the World Trade Center Association to operate in Accra.
“Through a robust portfolio of events, programming and resources that it offers to the members, WTCA would help local economies thrive by encouraging and facilitating trade and investment across the globe through member engagement,” she added.
Madam Reindorf-Attoh also indicated that “Ghana’s economy is accelerating at an ever-increasing pace, making it a symbol of stability and economic opportunity in all Africa. Hosting the 2021 WTCA GA positions Accra as an important destination, and a gateway to the continent for business everywhere.”
“Hosting the international audience of executives and leaders will provide a platform to showcase the richness of Accra’s culture and economic opportunity and that of all of Africa.”
She further indicated that about 400 business delegates would take part in the event in Accra in 2021 to help boost business activities in the country.
Director of Export, Trade and Investment at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Kobena Ebo Quaison, commended the leadership and management of the WTC Accra on winning the bid to host WTCA General Assembly in 2021.
He said government would take advantage of the opportunities to promote its industrial transformation agenda.
