Kofi Osei-Ameyaw
Director-General of the National Lottery Authority, Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, has denied plans to vie for the Asuogyaman seat come 2020.
Reacting to the story as carried in the DAILY GUIDE earlier, his aides stated: “We wish to state emphatically that Mr. Osei-Ameyaw has NOT officially or openly declared his intention to contest the Asuogyaman Parliamentary Seat in the 2020 general elections.”
The statement signed by Razak Poku, his aide, further stated: “He is more focused and committed to the mandate and favour given to him by President Akufo-Addo at the National Lottery Authority. As a good servant and steward, he is determined to focus on the implementation of President Akufo-Addo’s transformation agenda for the lottery industry in Ghana.”
In order to avoid doubt, the statement continued: “Mr. Osei-Ameyaw will not make any move on the Asuogyaman seat without first consulting and seeking approval from President Akufo-Addo and the leadership of the New Patriotic Party.”
The prevailing circumstances ahead of 2020 will determine whether he will contest the Asuogyaman seat or not, the statement pointed out.
He is wishing party members, who have openly declared their intention to contest the Asuogyaman seat in the 2020 general elections, well. He assured them about his preparedness to support the party’s chosen parliamentary candidate for the parliamentary candidate for the 2020 general elections.
