CK Akonnor
Asante Kotoko head coach, CK Akonnor, has expressed worry over his side’s inability to posses ball for long.
He blamed his side’s 1-1 stalemate results to poor ball possession; a situation he referred to as worrying and has promised to work on it.
Kotoko surrendered their slender lead to Ashgold in the John Agyekum Kufuor (JAK) Cup in Kumasi on Sunday.
Coach Akonnor said after the game: “I wouldn’t say we had a bad day because we had the chances to score but the inability to finish upfront was poor. We were able to create goal scoring opportunities but couldn’t score in the second half as well.”
The former Ashgold coach added “Our opponents played better than us, they possessed more than us and dominated. I’m not happy with how we possessed the ball and it’s becoming a major problem for me.”
Akonnor succeeded in guiding his side to advance in the CAF Confederations Cup competition after eliminating the Kenyan side, Kariobangi Sharks, late last year.
