Pik Botha
My cherished readers, I am warning you that if you do not have the courage, please close this chapter and don’t continue reading. I have already taken four shots of my mahogany bitters and what is coming out is not mine. I am so sad about what you are going to read but they are not predominantly my thoughts except that there is absolute truth in them. This is what makes me so sad. The black race and for that matter Africans have never accepted their own faults in the way we mismanage our own affairs. We are quick to blame others and more importantly Satan whom in truth, no one has ever met or had any discussions with before for all our woes on earth.
Just over a year back, someone sent me a message on my “Whatsapp,” it was a statement Pik Botha of apartheid South Africa is alleged to have made about the black race generally and Africans in particular. The statement is very insulting and demeaning of the black person. Pik Botha said all the black man does when he has money is to marry and marry and marry. The black rich person engages in sex and sex. The black man drinks away his life, give the black man a gun, and he kills his fellow black person. Botha said so many bad things about us the black people. It is very obvious that as black people many of us who read what I am talking about were very furious. We ignored the fact that some of the things he is reported to have said are true about us.
Why are we so poor in the midst of plenty in this continent? Now read this excerpt from an interview granted a Jew:
INTERVIEWER: Why are Blacks so behind economically?
Jewish Leader: The only aspect blacks understand is consumption. Blacks don’t understand the importance of building wealth. The fundamental rule is to keep your money within your racial group. We build Jewish business, hire Jewish, buy Jewish and spend Jewish. There is nothing wrong with that but it is a basic rule blacks cannot comprehend. ‘He kills his fellow blacks daily instead of wanting to see his fellow black do well’. 93 per cent of blacks killed in America are by other blacks. Statistics show that the Jew’s money exchanges hands 18 times before leaving his community while for the blacks; it is probably a maximum of once. Only six per cent of black money goes back into their community. This is why Jews are at the top and blacks are at the bottom of every ladder of society. Instead of buying Louis Vuitton, Hermes etc, blacks could industrialize Africa, build banks, get rid of colonial institutions by putting them out of business.
INTERVIEWER: Your thoughts on failure of blacks after 150 years?
JEWISH LEADER: Blacks must take responsibility. Blacks must unite. I can’t get over this interview. A great call for sober reflection amongst black peoples.
Let us critically analyze the above dispassionately as black people and ask ourselves whether the Jewish Leader is wrong?
There is also a black Priest of the World Ministry Church in Atlanta who questioned the thought pattern of the black man. He says ‘we need to examine the mind of the black man, he does not think correctly’. He says ‘we are not going to get anywhere until we look into our minds’. He says Africans never built one boat, never built a modern city and that the worst thing that happened to South Africa was when power got to the blacks even though he disliked apartheid. The angry black Priest does not understand why there is so much crime in South Africa, sickness, hunger, unemployment in that rich and beautiful country.
He does not understand and cannot tolerate the sight of pot-bellied, bare-footed, uneducated, hungry, emaciated children in Nigeria when that country has produced and exported so much oil and generated billions of US dollars over the years. A black cannot lead any nation successfully, he adds. And that is the frustrations of a black man in the United States of America. Is he right or wrong about his own race?
Look at African countries like Kenya for instance those people are stealing from their own government and go to invest the money in foreign countries. From the government to opposition, they only qualify to be used as a case study whenever bad examples are required. How do you even trust even those who have run away to hide here in the United States, hiding behind education? Daavi, give me another three tots.
My cherished readers, how many of you will not be angry about these ‘damning’ comments about the black race, but the question is, are those comments not true about us? Take away the use of colonialism as a justification for our underdevelopment. Hiroshima was razed down so many decades back, the Japanese have not used that as an excuse to leave Hiroshima as it was or live lives of desperation. It rather became a challenge for them to rebuild that city in a modern way to the envy of those who destroyed that city.
Is it not true that leaders of Africa are plain ‘glorified thieves’ who steal our monies and deposit them in other countries while the children of their nation are denied education? Are we not destroying what nature gave us through unbridled consumption in an unsustainable manner to the detriment of the future generations? Where are our forests, rivers, streams, lakes and the beautiful flora and fauna?
South Sudan fought a long battle to ‘liberate’ itself from mainland Sudan on account of religious differences which made them second class citizens in their own country. Barely a year after they had gained their ‘freedom’ from their internal oppressors, they turned round to kill themselves instead of addressing the socio-economic challenges which have afflicted them all the years. The problems of illiteracy, hunger, disease, hopelessness and helplessness among the generality of its populace, still continues.
Unemployment among the growing young population has become a way of life in Africa; a continent with immense expanse of arable land that can cater for the food needs of all, crime has become a means of livelihood among a section of the youth who are unsure of what tomorrow brings to them. Meanwhile, the leaders continue to exploit their collective resources, buy expensive mansions outside of the continent, open fat foreign accounts to cater for their off springs and leave their countries with mountainous debts.
Even outside of Africa, rich black people dissipate their resources opulently, some end up being poor and bankrupt before they die. Bill Gate makes money and sets up a Foundation to take care of some of the health needs of Africa. There is not one black millionaire in the Diaspora that I know who has invested a dollar in Africa to help address some of our problems. Why would they, if their counterparts back in Africa are queuing at foreign banks to deposit millions of stolen monies?
There doesn’t seem to be single success stories that can give us hope as Africans, I had the opportunity to view the mansion of Bill Gate in Seattle, U.S.A. That house comes nowhere near the private mansion of the South African President, Jacob Zuma. He did not build that mansion out of his personal resources. He stole public funds when crime and poverty has engulfed his people. Cry my beloved continent.
Daavi, another three tots.
