DJ Zel
Nine-year-old UK-based DJ Zelda Nana Yaa Adepa Manteaw, also known as DJ Zel, has been honoured as an outstanding DJ at the 2019 International African Achievers Merit Awards ceremony held in Accra.
DJ Zel was honoured for excelling in her field of endeavour, as she continues to make Ghana proud on the international stage.
After receiving the award, she said the award would further boost her morale as she continues to entertain people on the turntable.
“I thank the organisers for recognising my efforts and hard work. It has not been easy but gradually I keep making progress in my field and I hope someday I would make my country proud,” she said.
“I also dedicate this award to my fans and my parents who have offered me unflinching support in my early career and to my management, Zel Promotions,” she added.
The nine -year-old DJ is currently on a visit to Ghana, embarking on an initiative on education and sensitisation on numerous environmental problems and other charity works.
She is not only a DJ, but also endowed with versatile qualities like singing and dancing.
DJ Zel was recently signed as the official DJ to play on the popular entertainment UnAfrik Show on GN Radio based in the UK and airs every Saturday from 10:00pm to 12:00am.
Her Ghanaian parents? Mr. Reginald Manteaw and Mrs. Jennifer Manteaw? have lived in the UK for the past 20 years and have been supportive of their young prodigy as she looks to make Ghana proud.
DJ Zel certainly has the best selections on the turntable playing different music genres, including Afrobeats, hip-life, hip-hop, R&B and gospel.
Her recent electrifying performance at the UnAfrik Live Jam in Leicester, UK, has kept her fans enthralled by her amazing turntable ingenuity, as she touted for greatness.
