Lamini Tips Kotoko Over Pillars

FLASHBACK: Alhaji Lamini (L) with Dr. Kwame Kyei, Kotoko boss

A former management member of Asante Kotoko FC, Alhaji Abu Lamini, is brimming with confidence ahead of the Porcupine Warriors-Kano Pillars Champions League clash this Sunday.

His strong conviction stems from Kotoko’s constant rehearsals and focus since returning from Nigeria after the first leg.

Kotoko suffered a 2-3 loss in the Nigeria fixture; a scoreline officials of Pillars believe will not hamper their progress in the competition.

However, Alhaji Lamini is convinced beyond measure that the first leg results places Kotoko slightly ahead of the visitors, notwithstanding uncertainties in the game.

“Football, they say, is full of surprises, but not this time; against a side we led them in the first leg at a point. I believe the technical team has identified what accounted for the Nigeria error.

“Reports from Kumasi are refreshing, I’m told the team’s spirit is high, and knowing what is at stake, I want to believe the playing body will go the extra mile to make themselves and our dear club proud.

“They know how complacency can cost them, so I don’t want to touch on that, they are very much aware of that. We are only hoping and praying for a good day. I strongly believe Kotoko will advance to the next stage of the competition,” Lamini said in an interview.

The Porcupine Warriors will host Kano Pillars at the Baba Yara Stadium this Sunday in their Champions League return fixture.
