Alhaji Abu Lamini
Former Asante Kotoko management member, Alhaji Abu Lamini, has admonished the Porcupine Warriors to remain focused in the CAF Champions League campaign.
Three days ago, Kotoko brushed aside Kano Pillars and progressed to the next stage of the competition in Kumasi on a 4-3 aggregate.
The 2-0 victory before a jam-packed home fans pitted Kotoko against Tunisian side, Étoile Sportive du Sahel in their next game.
Deemed as a high-profile game taking into account the two sides pedigree in the campaign, Kotoko appeared tactically sound that time, having blended so well with its recruits.
And that manifested in the return leg fixture at Baba Yara, recording goals in both halves on Sunday.
However, the former African Cup campaign manager cautioned Kotoko to remain focused till they lay hands on the ultimate.
“It is natural to be carried away after qualification, but hey! That is dangerous, they should remain focused and hungrier as they travel in this campaign.
“It is a tough terrain, but with determination, I believe they will go places, they should keep fighting hard and listen to the coach’s instructions.
“I must commend the entire team, management, technical and the playing body for advancing to the next stage, the real work has just begun. Everybody should play his or her part well, and I believe with proper planning, the team will go places,” Alhaji Lamini said after the game.
On September 13, Kotoko will host Étoile du Sahel in Kumasi for the first leg and travel for the return leg clash on September 27.
The CEO of Lamini Ventures provides regular financial support to the Porcupine Warriors.
