The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ashanti Region-based radio station, Alpha Radio, Sheikh Ridwan Mohammed Kudibawasaba who doubles as Director of an NGO, Alpha Ridwan Media Charity Foundation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Head of the Hausa communities across Europe, Dr Sheikh M. A. S. Jan Kado.
Under the terms of the MoU Alpha Ridwan Charity Foundation will collaborate in the provision of care and support to orphans and widows.
The signing was done within the Kumasi premises of the radio station last Sunday. The Sarkin Hausawa of Europe who is based in France was on a brief visit to Kumasi for the signing of the MoU. Both persons had earlier held discussions of on how best they could jointly support the vulnerable.
During a reception which was held to round off the guest’s visit to Kumasi, a citation was presented to him in recognition of his philanthropic roles.
Sheikh Ridwan Mohammed mentioned that he signed the agreement to among other things enhance the support he rendered to orphans and widows in Kumasi and beyond.
He added that the MoU also sought to provide for an exchange programme in the areas of knowledge, research and capacity building; and a plan to build an orphanage to provide shelter, feeding, education and skills and employment opportunities.
On his part, Dr Sheikh Jan Kado expressed gratitude to Alpha Radio for the honour done him. He promised to fulfill his part of the agreement in order to provide relief to the vulnerable in society.
The Alpha Radio CEO through his NGO has consistently supported the needy during festivities. He also supports such needy persons in educational institutions in Kumasi.
As an Islamic evangelist he engages in spreading the word of God both on air and beyond it.
