Manhyia South Schools Top BECE

THE MANHYIA South Constituency has placed first among the five constituencies in the Kumasi Metropolis in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.

The Kumasi Metro Director of Education, David Oppong, made the announcement during a programme in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

“I am pleased to announce that the Manhyia South Constituency has come first with an average of 76 per cent pass rate in the BECE results,” he revealed.

The Kumasi Metro Director of Education stated that the enviable success chalked up by Manhyia South in the BECE results shows that the Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, aka Napo, who coincidentally is the Member of Parliament  for the area, is working hard to bring positive change.

Under the leadership of Dr. Prempeh the education sector has experienced transformation within a short time.

According to the Metro Director, it is a fact that Napo’s timely intervention has contributed to improve the sector in general so he was not surprised that schools in his constituency are also doing well.

“We should all support the minister to continue to uplift the standards of education in our country,” Mr. Oppong added.

Napo, who was at the programme, said he would continue to lead the crusade to get all children in schools to help secure the future of the country.
