Nineteen57, organisers of the annual Rhythms On Da Runway fashion event, has announced that this year’s event will only parade works of Ghanaian fashion greats.

This is coming years after top designers from other countries such as Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya and others made a huge impact on the show last year.

The 2020 Rhythms On Da Runway event dubbed ‘Beyond The Return’ edition is scheduled to take place at the plush Underbridge in East Legon on November 14, 2020.

It will involve exciting musical performances from artistes such as Kelvin Boy, MOG, Kwabena Kwabena, Efya, Chayuta, A-marie, King Promise, Kuami Eugene and Camidoh.

There will be other performances from the hilarious Clemento Suarez, KJ, Coach Freeman and Akwaboah Snr. & Jnr.

Speaking at the fashion event’s launch on Wednesday at the African Regent Hotel in Accra, CEO of Nineteen57, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), indicated that “for the first time in its history, the show will feature 100 per cent Ghanaian fashion and music.”

“The audience will be delighted by designs from KOB Fashions, Step Up, Carlos Collections, Lawen Taylor, Ben Kontoh, Katie O, Lush Lahai, Chocolate by Kweku Bediako, Ato Tetteh, Tetteh Plahar, Jay Ray, Sima Brew and Le Bon Collection,” he added.

Since its inception 13 years ago, Rhythms On Da Runway has brought more fashion greats to showcase their works on the runway by some of the best models from Ghana.

Last year’s event for ‘The Year of Return’ edition was a huge success and saw African designers from far and near to display their works. Designers like Mudi, Ophelia Crossland, Velma Accessories, Abrantie The Gentleman and a host of other notable designers were among those who shared their works with fashion lovers present.
