Galle Ansah
Actress Galle Ansah has said her recent move to go into music is not a ploy to end her acting career.
Speaking in an interview with NEWS-ONE, the ‘YOLO’ actress disclosed that she is only expanding her territories in the creative arts industry.
“No, I am not quitting acting. I am only expanding the territories. That’s all. I’m going to distribute my time evenly to acting and pursuing music as well as my choreography aspect. So I’m not leaving any behind. I’m just adding to it. It is like having a business and trying to expand it,” she said on Sunday.
Galle got her breakthrough in the movie scene in 2010 via Kwaw Ansah’s directed movie ‘Good Old Days: For the Love of AA’.
She has since gone on to feature in a number of TV series, including ‘Table of Men’, ‘Sadia’, ‘Sakumono’, ‘YOLO’ and other movie projects.
She is also into choreography after studying that at the University of Ghana’s School of Performing Arts.
In August 2020, she surprised her followers with something different from what she is known for. This was releasing her new single featuring Saeeda Wright. The song titled ‘Changing’ was released on some downloading platforms.
“My music experience so far is interesting. First of all, my genre of music is not something that is very popular in Ghana but surprisingly I don’t know it’s because of what we are going through now, everybody can relate to my song. The response has been massive and great. It is being positive,” Galle said.
According to her, she was inspired to go into music because music has been part of her life, adding, “My close friends actually know this about me and they have been pushing me to go into professional music career but I just felt like it wasn’t time yet. But it all started in my final year in university. I did Choreography & Sociology and I wasn’t getting the right sound for my thesis so composed it myself. ‘Changing’ was one of the songs I wrote in the process.”
“Currently, I am rebranding that is why may be it looked like I am quitting acting,” she added.
