KGL Lottery Bailout Hailed

The recent bailout gesture by the KGL Technologies Limited to the National Lottery Authority (NLA) has been greeted with applause by the Association of Lotto Marketing Companies.

An elated Association Of Lotto Marketing Companies hailed the KGL for its timely intervention in the crisis which bedeviled the NLA’s operations.

The NLA has been unable to meet its winning obligation since April 2020, a situation which got staff and players in the industry agitated.

The gesture of releasing funds to the NLA is a sign of good leadership of the President which has calmed agitated nerves, according to lotto marketers.

The national chairman of the association, Daniel Mensah, said in the statement that the NLA until the intervention was unable to pay winnings, thus causing a lot of inconvenience to them.

“This has resulted in the sale of tickets in the kiosks reducing to the lowest ebb. Already, we are battling with the unbridled pirating of the NLA by the private lotto operators who call themselves Banker-Banker,” he said.

“The cumulative effect of the prize payment deficits runs into millions of Cedis culminating in agitations and protestations of the staff, the association members and the staking public,” he admitted.

He however said ‘it is heartwarming therefore that KGL has released funds to the NLA to meet its obligations.”

The association stated its readiness to join forces with all stakeholders including KGL and employees of the NLA to ensure that the authority remains a major source of revenue for the government.

KGL Technology Limited is an online lotto marketing company duly licenced by the NLA and operates the *959# short code.
