Shatta Wale
An Accra Circuit Court has granted bail to Dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah known in showbiz as Shatta Wale and three of his boys who are standing trial over a shooting prank.
While Shatta Wale was granted a self-recognisance bail of GHc100,000, his accomplices, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Eric Venator, and Iddrisu Yussif were each granted a bail of GHc100,000 with a surety who must be a public officer.
The four were put before the court for circulating a video in which they alleged that the self proclaimed dance hall king had been shot by unknown persons.
Shatta Wale has been charged with one count of publication of false news while his boys were charged with one count of abetment of publication of false news.
The accused persons would return to court on November 9, 2021 case management.
The self-acclaimed dance hall king and his boys caused a stir when they published a video which instantly went viral claiming that the ‘I Know My Level’ singer had been shot by unknown gunmen following a prophecy by Jesus Ahuofe.
Court documents indicated that Eric Vanetor had gone to the East Legon Police Station in Accra with Shatta Wale’s sister to report that the musician was missing, but investigations by the police revealed that the information was false.
