Stone Gee
Talented afrobeat/highlife artiste, Kwame Ayi Kwaw, popularly known in the music scene as Stone Gee, has been nominated in the 2021 Ashanti Region Music Awards (ARMA).
The event, which has been running for the second time, seeks to acknowledge, reward and support hardworking musicians and other major industry players from the Ashanti Region.
Kofi Jamar is leading the nominees list with seven nominations, followed by Yaw Tog and Jah Bahd with five each, and Black Sherif and Ypee with four each.
Strongman, Don Elvi, Jay Bahd, Kweku Flick, Sean Lifer, Bro Sammy, Panda Masson, Amerado, Apya, Dead Peepol, Mr. Sackey, Kweku Darlington, Okesse 1 and others made the list.
Stone Gee, who recently released hit singles ‘Bad Friends’ featuring Okyeame Kwame and ‘No More’ with audiovisuals, was nominated in two categories, Non Ashanti Song of the Year and Non Ashanti Artiste of the Year.
In the Non Ashanti Artiste of the Year category, Stone Gee will compete with several talents such as Koo Ntakra, Kwame Yogot, Okortor Perry, Kwasi King Burner, Wyse Brain, Klara Kay and a few others.
Shortly after the nominees list was released, Stone Gee’s management team came out to say thank you to all his fans for their support.
When asked how he feels on getting the nominations, Stone Gee said he’s excited and he just can’t help it but to thank his fans for their support and contribution towards the success of his musical career.
The singer and songwriter said, “I am definitely happy about my nomination. This only goes on to show that my contribution to the Ghana music industry is being recognised.”
“It is also an indication that, I need to work harder. I should not go to sleep because of this,” he added.
The artiste recently received nine (9) nominations for this year’s edition of the Eastern Music Awards (EMA) 2021 slated for December 18 in Koforidua.
For those who knew what Stone Gee could do, it wasn’t a surprise that he got nominations at the Ashanti Region Music Awards (ARMA). It will also not be a surprise if he walks home with the awards from the ceremony.
