Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has on Wednesday launched his much-anticipated ride-hailing service called Shaxi.
“Shaxi”, an acronym for Shatta Taxi is an initiative aimed at providing jobs for the youths in various communities.
The Shatta Movement boss first announced the employment opportunity for drivers in the country on social media in late July 2021
“Shatta Movement fans are going to be employed.
The youth are going to be employed, the street [boys] are going to be employed, yes we all can play a role in reducing the unemployment rate. It’s coming to #SHAXI,” he tweeted at the time.
“#SHAXI is looking forward to employing a lot more of the female population to encourage and empower women drivers,” he added.
“Thank you Ghana for embracing #SHAXI, I love y’all, when we come together, we can do so many things for ourselves,” he also said.
The launching ceremony was held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra and attracted some celebrities. Among them were Bola Ray, Medikal and the actress wife, Fella Makafui, Serwaa Amihere and a host of others.
The service was launched with a message to customers to download the Shaxi app and start enjoying the services.
