The two suspects
THE POLICE in Kumasi have arrested two suspects in connection with possessing 101 wrapped substances, suspected to be Indian hemp also known as ‘Wee’.
The two suspects have been identified as Emmanuel Boateng and Musah Saafui, both 18 years old. They have since been detained by the KNUST Police.
A third suspect, whose name was given as Nana Yaw aka ‘the Game’, believed to be the main supplier of the substance, is on the run.
A police document indicated that police patrol team around 1am on March 22, 2022, spotted Emmanuel Boateng walking alone on the streets at Boadi near a game centre.
The police patrol team became suspicious so they stopped Boateng and when he was searched, “nine wrapped substances, suspected to be Indian hemp, were found on him.”
Boateng disclosed to the team that he bought the illegal substance from Musah Saafui. He then led the police to the house of Saafui at Boadi where he was also arrested.
“A search carried out in Saafui’s room led to the retrieval of 92 wrapped substances, GH¢123.00, a pair of scissors and a lighter,” the police document disclosed.
The case is under investigation.
