The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has launched this year’s edition of the Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival scheduled to take place from Friday, April 7 to Monday, April 10.
The Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival is an annual celebration being organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture in collaboration with GTA and the chiefs and people of Okwahuman.
The festival will bring together family and friends from the diaspora as well as indigenes of Okwahuman to have fun and experience the rich cultural and tourism sites within the Kwahu enclave.
This year, GTA is targeting an increase of tourists from 1 million to 1.3 million to various destinations in order to boost the country’s Gross Domestic Product.
At the launch, GTA announced that the cost for flying during this year’s paragliding festival would be GH¢950.00.
The GTA urged hoteliers within the Kwahu enclave to charge moderate rates to avoid a shift in tourism destination for the country.
The Paragliding Festival has become an integral part of the Kwahu Easter festivities and transformed into an international event under the Ghana Tourism Authority of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
