The Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and a Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, George Mireku Duker has visited Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO).
The visit was in honour of the newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer of VALCO, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, and to recognize the company’s contributions to the national economy.
During the visit, Mr Mireku Duker discussed valuable industry insights, the challenges of VALCO, and potential solutions to those challenges.
The Minister also called on the Board, management, staff, and stakeholders to work together for the success of VALCO.
Furthermore, the Minister pointed out that his Ministry was prepared to support VALCO in driving the vision of the President on the Integrated Aluminium Industry in Ghana.
The Minister and his team subsequently toured the plant.
They went through each stage of the aluminum production process, starting from the docks through parcel 3, Carbon operations cell lines, and ending at the cast house.
The visit of the Minister was a significant occasion for VALCO, reinforcing the company’s position in the industry and showcasing their commitment to shaping the future of VALCO. VALCO expressed gratitude to the Minister, the Board Chairman, the Chief Executive Officer of GIADEC, and the entire team that accompanied the Minister to VALCO.
