Former Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen, has denied reports that former President John Agyekum Kufuor brought him into the political space.
Kyerematen, who recently resigned from Ghana’s governing New Patriotic Party, made it clear that President Kufuor did not facilitate his entry into politics, but rather it was on his own accord that he formed the Young Executive Forum to support the NPP when it was founded in 1992.
“President Kufuor did not bring me into politics,” Mr Kyerematen made this remarks on TV3 on Wednesday, September 27.
Addressing the rumours that Kufuor ensured he went to the US to work and later be an ambassador, Kyerematen revealed that such talks were unfair to the former president.
He also disclosed that he had previously spoken to Kufuor about the rumours, and that the former president felt hurt by them.
