A viral TikTok video has shown an ardent supporter of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, threatening to cause harm to any delegate who votes for Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming delegates’ election in Assin Central.
In the video, the young man made it known that delegates who do not vote for Agyapong will be physically assaulted.
He stressed that they would not be given the chance to step foot in the voting center, as no police or soldier would be allowed into Assin Central.
The TikToker added that they are fully committed to ensuring that Agyapong emerges victorious in the election. He referred to the people of Assin Central as foolish villagers who do not travel and do not know anything beyond their village.
He also rained curses on any delegate who dares to vote for Bawumia, saying that God’s wrath would be upon them. According to him, showing gratitude to someone who has taken care of you should not be too much to ask.
The Kennedy Agyapong supporter used unprintable words to describe the delegates who have declared their support for Dr Bawumia. He said that if Agyapong wins the election, they would all see how shameful they would be.
This development has sparked outrage on social media, with some calling for the government to arrest the young man and bring him to justice.
Many have also condemned his actions, saying that threats and violence have no place in politics.
In conclusion, it is essential for politicians and their supporters to understand that peaceful elections are key to the growth and development of any democratic society.
It is crucial that all parties and stakeholders work together to ensure that the upcoming delegates’ election in Assin Central is free, fair, and peaceful.
